The Driver's Seat

Who is the ultimate authority? I can only hope that any persons answer is themselves, the entity of self. I cannot be your authority, just as you can't be mine. However, lets not spark confusion, I think we should take an step back and observe this notion from a semantical point of view before further examination.

Authority- The power to determine, adjudicate, or otherwise settle issues of disputes; jurisdiction; the right to                  control, command, or determine.

Control- To exercise restraint or direction over; dominate; command.

So, you can't have control without authority. I think we can agree that authority and control aren't synonymous. Does this mean that certain "authority figures" and massive groups of "authority entities" have control of YOU? According to me, they don't have any authority for anyone and certainly not control. That is unless of course, you allow them to, and grant them jurisdiction and judgement of your actions and behavior, your decisions, and your thoughts. But he, I'm not your boss, I never will be and don't want to be, so YOU decide!
These so-called authority figures and entities- those who "govern" and make crucial decisions without asking you or I, which have much effect on you and I, office holding politicians, lawyers, judges, the police, and of course the ever lurking "Johnny Do-Gooder" the neighbor, have zero authority over anyone else, except their selves. They only have influence, power and authority if it's given to them, by YOU. I think an analogy could be well used here. The setting takes place in a car, your car, and you're taking a ride, or trip. The vehicle is representative of multiple roles, it can be your will, your life, authority and/or control, it could even be protection or safety. Who is going to pilot this vehicle? It can either be you or someone else, but it's your ride, your trip, your vehicle, your journey. Changing drivers is of course an option at anytime.
There are people that I may allow to drive my car, only if I feel that it is absolutely necessary though. I would be extremely cautious about who I allow to pilot the vehicle, even if it is temporarily. A car crash only needs a single moment to occur, one mistake. The great part is that you can take over the wheel whenever YOU want, it's always an option, no one is permanently in control of your ride, YOUR journey.
Don't allow yourself to be stuck in the passenger seat. You have built the prison, your are the prisoner, you are also the warden! Stop imprisoning yourself at the will of someone else's "authority" that was granted by you. You see, these figures are human just like you. They wear uniforms, and assume titles that our society has been conditioned to associate with authority and control over you and me, I believe this is completely absurd.
This authority, many times, is granted as a result of fear, not respect or a mutual understanding of what is "right", its not based on trustworthy principles agreed upon by all parties involved. Control is a direct product of fear. Let me ask you, what are you afraid of? (I've written about fear previously, you can look back for reference f you please to, I will spare you and myself the time and patience of repetition) All we as a human really need is shelter, food, water, and of course some love is always a welcomed bonus.

YOU are the ultimate authority, YOU are the creator, YOU are the perception, YOU are the reality.

                                COMBAT CONTROL!
