Re-Birth

LIfe itself can be viewed many different way, from various perspectives. One of the more common ways to approach life, is viewing it from a cyclical position. I think this quite popular because there are phenomenon that appear to naturally contain the pattern of cyclical activity. An easy example to present is the concept of time, which is used to manage our lives. Whether we want to admit it or not, cyclic events are not only how we perceive time but also how we can manage those events and even more importantly, complete the ever important cycles and lessons our lives present to us.

A popular cyclical celebration are recognized as holidays. The new year celebration is some-thing many look forward to. It's the completion of one cycle and the beginning of a new one. We can learn from the past, and apply those lessons to the future, in an attempt to, hopefully, enjoy the present. The new year can be measured by the gregorian calender, usually is if you're partaking in western culture, but also we can celebrate the completion and birth of the cycle of the Sun, the very force that makes life as we know it possible. For this years past winter solstice I decided to write a bit of a sermon or prayer, so that I could focus on and appreciate the completion and birth of this new cycle. This is nothing new, as traditionally the burning of a log is the centerpiece of this celebration. The ritual gives some-thing for us recognize and hold memory of so that we can always carry these celebratory events as well as the reflection and lessons learned and taught with us, so that we can strive in this life and pass on the knowledge and wisdom to others, so they will enjoy the same fruits.

Without ruining this post by writing too much, I will now just present the prayer that was written to celebrate the death and birth, I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Even the darkest night will end with the rising of the sun.

We burn this log which represents many things.

The log itself could mirror the past cycle of the sun, especially, before the flame itself ends.

We will preserve one piece of the log, so that this cycle will not be forgotten and we will continue to learn from it.

That piece will aid in the next ceremony’s beginning, lighting the flame to continue and carry this moment and collect many more.

Within the flame is the extinguishing of past dilemmas, illness, ailments and troubles.

Out of the flame is the birth of a new cycle filled with prosperity, love, and joy.

In some cultures, as long as the flame is alive, servants are relieved of their duties. To continue this tradition, let’s grant ourselves the freedom from our self inflicted servitude. May the shackles of fear, restriction, envy and hate be broken, so that we no longer serve them.

We should not forget this moment and carry the freedom we share with us at all  times and reflect the joy of love, will, admiration, and truth!

We can embrace the ritual, as ritual is representative of our life and our struggle.

Lets stand in silence, together, and focus, together, to rid the problems of the past, together, and together summon future prosperity.

However, we must not forget the troubles of the past, but instead embrace the lessons learned in the now, for the future.

Even the darkest night will end, with the rising of the sun.

Distracting Progression

I've written MUCH on the topic of fear, or at least my perception of it. Fear is some-thing that I seem to gravitate towards. I am intrigued by it, not so much consumed by experiencing fear, but more specifically, I am fascinated by the by-products of the phenomenon. Here at the chamber of madness, I've expressed the role fear plays in controlling individuals, and on a larger scale controlling the masses. Together, we've discovered that once fear is realized and evaded it's difficult to be controlled. Obviously, this task has the potential to take a lifetime, and in many cases it does... OR unfortunately, never happens at all. Before we continue our examination of fear, and the process by which to omit it from our mind(because that's the only place it exists!) let's try to discover WHY! fear continues to exist, jumping from one existence to another.
Is fear something that is passed from generation to generation via genetics?.... I doubt it, BUT I don't doubt at all that fear is something that is commonly continued via family tradition, lifestyle, and habitual prisons. I wonder how many generations... CENTURIES, it took for primitive man to muster the courage to ponder the origins of self. Does this seem like a confusing statement/question, perhaps a strange or "off-base" thought? I could understand why someone would feel this way, I would then ask them how often they've considered the origins of man, or philosophized while evading the police. I hope I'm making myself clear. Instead of digressing, like I have been, I'll move on and continue to attempt to explain.
First of all, there are parts of the world that seem extremely less evolved when using technology, luxury, and diplomacy as the scale. I think it's fair to say that none of these places are considered "safe". Generally speaking, these locations all share certain characteristics, one is an abundance of death.. violent death, or so we're told. I must add that, when I say "abundance of death", I'm comparing it to the western numbers. Why do these areas seem to not be progressing in past "in" fighting, and continuing in an almost animalistic way of life?
Before we continue to examine the phycology of fear and the distracting result it has on human progression of mind, I think it is necessary and fair to observe that one of the characteristics shared by these various locations and people who inhabit them, is nutrition, better yet a lack there of. Could it be that a contributor of stagnation in these regions is that proper macronutrient ratio's aren't available, allowing growth of brain tissue? This dilemma of food shortage, I believe plays a role also. When someone is focused on surviving they cannot adequately focus on progressing.
During childhood, many are scared of the dark, they are unfamiliar and not accustom to the emptiness and mystery of a dark room. We've all been there, wondering, focusing, fixated on what possibly could be looming in the seemingly infinite darkness. I find it interesting how focused and distracted we can be at the same time. Have you ever taken a walk very early in the morning? In case you haven't, I encourage you to do so, but for the purposes of this entry, I'll include a slight summary of what you may experience. I like to walk in parks, they can be VERY dark and usually no one else is around if you go at an early hour. However, you will hear many different sounds, unfamiliar sounds too. These are of course a variety of animals, that  you cannot see, BUT you know they are near, but not where exactly. Put yourself in the place of primitive man, who cannot yet explain some of these "mysteries", but realizes that they're in potential danger..... creating, there it is! FEAR. Because of this, the mind is distracted from intellectual pondering, and focused on survival, whether it means to attack or defend.
Bringing us back to current "times", you may be asking how this applies to modern man, as we realize the potential dangers that lure outside, which is why we have shelter and don't put ourselves into situations that lead to conflict. First I would say yes, you are generally correct, but I would then point out that fear comes in many different forms, however its effect on progression is just as powerful and distracting regardless of the delivery method.
In western culture, we are surrounded by distraction aside from the frequently unnoticed presence of fear in lingering in our psyche. Westerners are "worried"(fearful) of not paying bills, not making the rent/mortgage payment, getting to work on time, keeping their job, fitting in, not offending someone, eating right, looking "okay"........ and the list goes on and on. As "free" as westerners think they are, they've done a great job at sealing their own shackles. People of the west are overwhelmed on a daily basis with a complex life they've created. They're so focused on everything BUT consciousness progress that it seems as if they're moving in an opposite direction, towards consciousness destruction!
In the regions of the world viewed as third-world, possibly second world, and war zones, do you think it's possible for the people to consider alternate ideology than what they've been taught? It's very easy to say "of course! how could they not", but please put yourself in their "bunker". If you're constantly looking over your shoulder, constantly searching for food, or safe captivity, I think it's going to be very difficult to sit down and contemplate seemingly complex philosophies with a friend for the afternoon. These areas, have constantly been involved in conflict, I'm not denying that there definitely foreign elements at work too, but for the inhabitants who lack a voice, or peace, or peace of mind for that matter, I'd say their in quite the predicament. (In my opinion, it's a tragedy that those same foreign elements aren't creating an environment that promotes intellectual growth, and are instead instigating fear and consciousness destruction... but hey, the name of their game is control, and they play it well...)

How do we continue to improve our progress in regards to consciousness? Begin your own COMBAT CONTROL! campaign, but don't do it because I said so! ;D One of the many reasons to begin omitting fear from your psyche is the allowance, or birth perhaps, of consciousness progression, i.e. EVOLUTION. Combatting control = combatting fear.

Fear is a distracting factor that continuously impedes the evolution of mind, knowledge and consciousness.

I am a businessman.

First of all, it's been a while since I've written or posted a blog. There are two reasons for this occurrence. First of all, I have been very busy with my "career", and as a result, secondly I haven't really had  many thoughts I felt worthy of writing or study. Today I had an interesting thought, and it keeps circling around in my mind, so as a result I've decided to write about it and share this idea with you. I hope you enjoy, and please remember to keep an open mind, no one is wrong, no one is right.....

I am a businessman. You are too, whether you realize it or not, regardless if you want to be or not, you are a businessman. Everyone who continues to breathe, eat, communicate, laugh, cry, scream, be silent, summon thoughts, sleep, and awake, to begin again, is conducting business.
Every inhalation brings yet another moment of business. Every exhale notes the passing of yet another transaction, sometimes these transactions are insignificant..... BUT WHY? Why would you allow your business to be unproductive? It costs your business time, something that cannot be replaced, and is literally priceless. Time is the most valuable commodity your business, or any business has.
How well does your business operate with other businesses? Does your business take part in charitable actions, that potentially aid other business, regardless of any profit gained or lost? The very existence of your business is phenomenal and significant!... OR is it actually, lackluster and and mediocre? Something that the world could go without, perhaps unnoticed when "closed", and/or forgotten when failed.
Business is survival, at the very least. How many businesses continue for the sake of providing a service or goods, or product? If your business isn't growing, why is it continuing? If your business is offering your nothing in return for your time spent and sacrificed, what's the point?

     What does your business do?

How does your business measure profit?

     Why does your business exist?

     Is your business succeeding?

Those are just some questions you may consider asking yourself before continuing in your business ventures, or possibly building a new business, after drafting a new plan, if found necessary.

Your business is your existence, why continue operating a business, that does not grow(EVOLVE)? Why take part in a venture that offers nothing, that goes unnoticed, that people pass by, uninterested to the point of never being forgotten for lack of memory.
Successful business continue to grow after their creator passes, will your business live on or prosper after you are unable to contribute to its interests?

Eating Candy from Strangers

When we are children one lesson commonly taught is to never talk to strangers. This is of course a measure of precaution taken by our parents/guardians, or whoever claims and takes responsibility for our lives and well-being. The reason we are told to not talk to strangers is of course because, "strangers are bad"..... So essentially we are conditioned to believe that most people are bad, unless proven otherwise. The dilemma is, of course, how do we prove someone to be "good" without approaching them and developing some kind of relationship with them. I feel like so many people exist in this world and are terrified, or just short of, sparking up conversation with someone whom they have never met.
It's amazing to me that so many people seem to hold onto this conditioning. How do people meet each other? I guess through family and friends, viewed as trusted sources for reliable judgement of character. This is nice, I just think it's really interesting when we talk to strangers, not to mention that perspectives expressed are, from my experience, never repeated or habitual. The practice of forcing conversation is very educational due to the variety that is not only unexpected, but also because you are giving strangers a chance to "prove" themselves to be decent people(most people are pretty nice, which is why the word prove is in quotations).
Break the conditioning and talk to strangers, odds are if you're reading this you're an adult and you most likely have acquired the skills to break the ice with someone you don't know, which is reason to get to know them. They don't have to "look" interesting, but may be actually the highlight of your day. You may even learn some new jokes, or an interesting fact. The learning process is seemingly endless with this exercise, I've learned much about myself and my ability to take part in the art of conversation. Also, I would like to think that I've shared the same pleasure as the strangers I've met, it's really quite enjoyable, you can say anything to someone who knows nothing about you, they can only judge you by what they know about you, which is only what you've told them.
When we are kind to strangers, I think we've improved two peoples experience of meeting. After all, we don't know them, so we can probably assume the best, and if you treat the meeting as if they are a "good" person, the entire experience most likely will be enjoyable. There's no reason to not talk to our fellow humans, we have a lot in common with each other, whether we realize it or not. Who knows, you could meet the best friend you'll ever know, or someone who will change your life/perspective completely. You'll never know if you don't try!

The Eternal Walk

I recently went for a walk. I don't know what shuffled me out the door, but for some reason I had a spontaneous urge to just go outside and walk, in any direction, with no goal of distance or time. First I noticed how nice of a day it was. There was a steady breeze, and the temperature was in the mid to high eighties, and sunny, very sunny. As I walked through the neighborhood I live in I took realized I was not alone in my desire to enjoy this truly wonderful day.
Some blocks were very nicely kept and almost damage free, while others could use some repair and then I even walked on some gravel. Of course then there were hills, up an down, and even some turns that I wasn't aware of. You see, I wanted to take a route I wasn't familiar with, eventually I made it to a park that was fairly close to the neighborhood. I new this park, very well actually, there were some obstacles on this day, speed bumps, signs blocking traffic for the day even some designated paths for bicycles, and runners too.
I crossed paths with many people, some ignored me, while others exchanged a vocal greeting. I had no particular plan, except that I new eventually I would have to go back to where I began. Because of that stipulation, or lack thereof, I new that I had no idea how long this walk would last. It could be short, it could be long. For I all I new, it could suddenly end unexpectedly. I did KNOW that it would end one way or another though. With this always resting on my mind, I had no fear of detours, or obstacles. These "constraints" could come in the form of people, unexpected construction, vehicular accidents etc. Also though, these same situations could be used as tools, as knowledge to be applied while faced with familiar dilemmas on this journey back to where I began, wherever and whenever that destination is.
We all must eventually return to where we came from. We don't know when, we don't know by what method or vehicle. All we know is that this eternal walk we share will end, and we will go back to where we came from. DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU CAME FROM? I know we were born into this human body, but do you really know where YOU came from? On this journey we face many obstacles, we learn much and eventually become familiar with what was once unknown. Many of us bring light to the dark, so that others may share those hidden paths that are clouded with darkness of confusion. Because we know the walk will we can continue to stride in whatever direction we please, WITHOUT FEAR. You see, every direction is ahead and towards home, regardless if we realize it or not. Enjoy your walk, and greet those along the path with open minds and arms, they may be tired and could use some motivation to keep moving, We are all headed home, wherever that is, I'll see you there.

The only way to control some-thing is to contain it, whether it be with shackles or bars, our minds are as flexible as water, have you ever squeezed water? or put it in cage?

Born into Restriction

We've had discussions before about living a life according to other peoples standards. The term, other peoples, could be interpreted as your parents, your peers, a teacher, a psychologist, a social class, perhaps even the society as a whole. This idea of people not living according to their own standards could point us to a direction that begins to investigate why so many people seem unhappy or worse yet complain of being unsatisfied.
I've made mental notes of how often people deny themselves the pleasure of trying something "new". This could be due because of a variety of reasons, for instance, a lack of interest or desire. However, I can't deny the notion that in a fair amount of these scenarios, many of us simply aren't comfortable doing something new and unfamiliar. Why wouldn't we be comfortable? Ah, because we're afraid... there it is AGAIN! that famous four lettered word ... FEAR ... Although we could continue to examine fear and its origin, AND it's effect on the psyche and the lives of nearly everyone, we won't, for fear of driving the word into the ground.
In our society I think it's safe to say that we are all born into restriction. From the moment we attain basic thought functions, we are told what to do. So, through the process of conditioning, whether intentional or not, we immediately are taught that taking orders is normal, and furthermore, living and acting according to others standards is to be expected. Of course this is in many cases parents trying to sculpt their child or children into the most socially efficient product of human specimen possible. This process is performed usually based on the lives of the parents and their experiences and time spent on this planet.
So many people are born, and shortly after baptized, myself included. This act frustrates me VERY much. I understand that the water is just water, and the blessing is simply a ritual that only has as much significance as you credit it. Which is why it's extremely childish of the parents to include a baby, who as far I can tell, doesn't understand the ritual, the prayer, the blessing, and most likely isn't interested in "saving his/her soul" from eternal damnation through Christian practice. Perhaps the entire service is provided to grant the parents a piece of mind(in their very small mind) in case something were to happen to their child before the soul could decide for their self whether or not they wanted to participate in Christian ritual by means of saving them self.

This is a great time to ask, "save ourself?.... from what?!?"

Supposedly Jesus died for my sins, and in an even tighter NUTshell we can basically say he died because I exist. From the moment I'm born I'm told, that this guy(the son(sun) of "GOD") died for me, and I should feel bad and repent, and not enjoy life due to his sacrifice for me. Well, what was the point of the sacrifice? Please don't think I'm being arrogant, this is not my intention, I'm asking, honestly, an honest question. From the moment I'm born, I've got guilt placed above my head, and are expected to act accordingly by not sinning, even though my sins are supposedly this man was crucified. By the way, I'm sure the crucifixion(which were common practice at the time in history) had nothing to do a man claiming to the be Son of God and gaining devotees along the way, perhaps there were certain empires who felt threatened by this mans lack of recognition of their authority???
Moving on, many people live according to standards which are not of their own, and are unhappy as a result. Whether the individuals live an unsatisfactory life due to religious dogma, or F.R.S.(Fear based Restriction Syndrome) it's clear that we must fulfill our desires to fulfill our lives. Let us all learn from our own mistakes, instead of taking instruction without doubt. I believe that knowing not to play in traffic is good, but understanding why is even greater. We don't have to experience this first hand to understand, but we do have to analyze the situation, obviously this example would only need a glance but that's why it's an example.

Stay YOUNG and never stop QUESTIONING.

Foolish Loyalty

Traditionally, in our society, there is much praise to children who achieve "high honors" within the public and private education system. These honors are acknowledged due to perfect attendance, and commonly, achieving "straight A's" for their academic records.
The scenario hosts a theme of positive reinforcement. I won't deny that there is punishment for not walking the line in the system. However, what does it really say about parents, the system and MOST importantly the student, when DOING AS YOU'RE TOLD, and NOT THINKING FOR YOURSELF are considered a great way learning, let alone advancing intelligence, NOT TO MENTION---being an actual productive human.
It's stunning to me, and I have written on the topic of the education system before, that no parents, or at least very few aren't outraged by the format at which their children are expected to learn and develop academically. Of course, upon further investigation and contemplation I realize that, "of course no one questions it, they never needed to think for themselves and actually were expected not to as that was a crime punishable various ways within this absurd system of brainwashing, mind-numbing, and CONTROL.
I have no argument for a parent be proud of their child, if they weren't I would find it strange. I don't understand where the glamour lay in one's child being submissive and obedient to a state who if hasn't begun to yet, will abuse and take advantage of the moment that child becomes adult(of course the state has also figured that out, you see, they know the moment when a child becomes adult and is fully capable of making "good" choices and is responsible for their decisions). I digress. I've been witness to "teachers"(glorified daycare) expressing frustration due to a student asking too many questions! In my opinion, THIS should be rewarded and encouraged. But once again, the cycle continues, the same teachers who taught the present teachers expressed the same angst towards them, I'll refer to a familiar phrase, "the blind leading the blind".
So we have a situation now where, the teachers are encouraging silent submission, and blind obedience as well as the parents. If the children are the future, I would like to encourage and witness students who are considered troublemakers, receive praise for their defiance. I don't think the kids are troubled, maybe confused.....actually yes! very confused, and I'm with them. I'll speak for them(since the state has decided they can't speak for themselves yet), I'm confused at why I  am expected to not ask questions about topics that actually interest me. Why do I need to learn something that bore's me to tears, and creates me to be distracted? not because I'm "stupid", but because I'm bored because MAYBE YOU'RE THE ONES THAT NEED TO CATCH UP TO MY LEVEL OF THOUGHT. Did you ever think that maybe I'm bored because I've already acquired the skills to breeze through your lackluster lesson, you're going to fail me, and punish me......because YOU can't recognize advanced thought....you're too fucking stupid to.
Because of your ignorance, you will put me in a position, after I finish your games, where I have limited options because either I don't have a diploma, or only have a diploma. The whole time whilst in your system I was punished because you couldn't keep up with me, and now I'll be the one who has to take the harder road through life, because I didn't follow your rules, I guess I forgot your lack of thought and mind has cursed you to a life of ignorance and you'll forever within this lifetime experience a mental block of original thought, because THE ONLY THING YOU EVER REALLY LEARNED WAS OBEDIENCE AND BLIND SUBMISSION- AND THIS IS HOW THEY SHUT THE DOOR ON ALL PATHS OF REAL INTELLIGENCE AND PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF ACTUAL THOUGHT WHICH LEAD TO FREEDOM- THEIR #1 ENEMY!
If you're a parent, I understand that you want the best for your child, and also encourage celebrating their life. But I would like for you to question what good is really being done when your child is praised for being "good" student, remember: good intentions don't always end with good results.
An appropriate phrase I learned in the recent past, was said to me from a very good friend of mine, and he learned it from a mutual friend of ours. I would like to share it with you, as I believe it to be EXTREMELY appropriate for this topic and discussion:

"ONLY DEAD FISH SWIM WITH THE STREAM"
