Distracting Progression

I've written MUCH on the topic of fear, or at least my perception of it. Fear is some-thing that I seem to gravitate towards. I am intrigued by it, not so much consumed by experiencing fear, but more specifically, I am fascinated by the by-products of the phenomenon. Here at the chamber of madness, I've expressed the role fear plays in controlling individuals, and on a larger scale controlling the masses. Together, we've discovered that once fear is realized and evaded it's difficult to be controlled. Obviously, this task has the potential to take a lifetime, and in many cases it does... OR unfortunately, never happens at all. Before we continue our examination of fear, and the process by which to omit it from our mind(because that's the only place it exists!) let's try to discover WHY! fear continues to exist, jumping from one existence to another.
Is fear something that is passed from generation to generation via genetics?.... I doubt it, BUT I don't doubt at all that fear is something that is commonly continued via family tradition, lifestyle, and habitual prisons. I wonder how many generations... CENTURIES, it took for primitive man to muster the courage to ponder the origins of self. Does this seem like a confusing statement/question, perhaps a strange or "off-base" thought? I could understand why someone would feel this way, I would then ask them how often they've considered the origins of man, or philosophized while evading the police. I hope I'm making myself clear. Instead of digressing, like I have been, I'll move on and continue to attempt to explain.
First of all, there are parts of the world that seem extremely less evolved when using technology, luxury, and diplomacy as the scale. I think it's fair to say that none of these places are considered "safe". Generally speaking, these locations all share certain characteristics, one is an abundance of death.. violent death, or so we're told. I must add that, when I say "abundance of death", I'm comparing it to the western numbers. Why do these areas seem to not be progressing in past "in" fighting, and continuing in an almost animalistic way of life?
Before we continue to examine the phycology of fear and the distracting result it has on human progression of mind, I think it is necessary and fair to observe that one of the characteristics shared by these various locations and people who inhabit them, is nutrition, better yet a lack there of. Could it be that a contributor of stagnation in these regions is that proper macronutrient ratio's aren't available, allowing growth of brain tissue? This dilemma of food shortage, I believe plays a role also. When someone is focused on surviving they cannot adequately focus on progressing.
During childhood, many are scared of the dark, they are unfamiliar and not accustom to the emptiness and mystery of a dark room. We've all been there, wondering, focusing, fixated on what possibly could be looming in the seemingly infinite darkness. I find it interesting how focused and distracted we can be at the same time. Have you ever taken a walk very early in the morning? In case you haven't, I encourage you to do so, but for the purposes of this entry, I'll include a slight summary of what you may experience. I like to walk in parks, they can be VERY dark and usually no one else is around if you go at an early hour. However, you will hear many different sounds, unfamiliar sounds too. These are of course a variety of animals, that  you cannot see, BUT you know they are near, but not where exactly. Put yourself in the place of primitive man, who cannot yet explain some of these "mysteries", but realizes that they're in potential danger..... creating, there it is! FEAR. Because of this, the mind is distracted from intellectual pondering, and focused on survival, whether it means to attack or defend.
Bringing us back to current "times", you may be asking how this applies to modern man, as we realize the potential dangers that lure outside, which is why we have shelter and don't put ourselves into situations that lead to conflict. First I would say yes, you are generally correct, but I would then point out that fear comes in many different forms, however its effect on progression is just as powerful and distracting regardless of the delivery method.
In western culture, we are surrounded by distraction aside from the frequently unnoticed presence of fear in lingering in our psyche. Westerners are "worried"(fearful) of not paying bills, not making the rent/mortgage payment, getting to work on time, keeping their job, fitting in, not offending someone, eating right, looking "okay"........ and the list goes on and on. As "free" as westerners think they are, they've done a great job at sealing their own shackles. People of the west are overwhelmed on a daily basis with a complex life they've created. They're so focused on everything BUT consciousness progress that it seems as if they're moving in an opposite direction, towards consciousness destruction!
In the regions of the world viewed as third-world, possibly second world, and war zones, do you think it's possible for the people to consider alternate ideology than what they've been taught? It's very easy to say "of course! how could they not", but please put yourself in their "bunker". If you're constantly looking over your shoulder, constantly searching for food, or safe captivity, I think it's going to be very difficult to sit down and contemplate seemingly complex philosophies with a friend for the afternoon. These areas, have constantly been involved in conflict, I'm not denying that there definitely foreign elements at work too, but for the inhabitants who lack a voice, or peace, or peace of mind for that matter, I'd say their in quite the predicament. (In my opinion, it's a tragedy that those same foreign elements aren't creating an environment that promotes intellectual growth, and are instead instigating fear and consciousness destruction... but hey, the name of their game is control, and they play it well...)

How do we continue to improve our progress in regards to consciousness? Begin your own COMBAT CONTROL! campaign, but don't do it because I said so! ;D One of the many reasons to begin omitting fear from your psyche is the allowance, or birth perhaps, of consciousness progression, i.e. EVOLUTION. Combatting control = combatting fear.

Fear is a distracting factor that continuously impedes the evolution of mind, knowledge and consciousness.
