Eliminating Fear

I've written about fear several times, usually about what we fear, I've touched a little on why we fear. I think that in many cases fear is completely relative to the individual, while often fear can be absolutely present for all; for example, I feel I can safely say that most people fear getting hit by a car. Though all of this may be true, the actual knowledge of recognizing fear is only part of the battle, once found we have to deal with it, and preferably eliminate the fear.
"The best way to conquer a phobia/fear is by facing it... confronting it". This, I've found is very true, the problem I see, is how few people actually do this. Understandably so, if I was afraid of falling off of a building, it wouldn't be productive to, well, fall off of a building in an attempt at neutralizing this fear. This can apply to various fears that are summoned by many people. After all, there is a reason a fears aren't confronted, they are legitimately something to fear! Eliminating fear, doesn't necessarily interpret to attacking grizzly bears and chasing cobras.
Some activities and situations can cause actual harm, I don't think these are the battles that we should be fighting. I would like to make it clear, that the fear that I'm referring to stems from social dogmas, personal/mental boundaries, physical boundaries and self restriction. All of these are rooted in the mind, and can be overcome and provide much progress for the individual. With that said, let's examine practices/rituals to broaden our perspective and strengthen ourselves-physically and mentally, after all fear is fueled by weakness.
We have to begin with control, as counterintuitive as is seems the only way to COMBAT CONTROL! is to maintain control, of yourself of course, allowing nothing else to impede your role in your life. Eliminating fear begins with confrontation, mental confrontation, fear is nothing more than an entity created in our mind. We have pursued many activities in our lives, and created a curtain that blocks out the truth of mental power and many people are stuck focusing on the physical aspect action, forgetting that everything we do begins AND ends with thought, intention, and gratification.
A series of tests and practices which can evolve into ritual(hopefully maintaining significance) can progressively eliminate fear, anxiety and motivate towards personal success and achieving new heights.

- Force yourself to talk to strangers(you can meet some great people, hear some interesting stories, you may even make a new friend and some people could use a "good morning" from someone they don't know; you don't have to be afraid of people you don't know.... just don't take any candy from them)

- Don't allow yourself to get too comfortable, and then find comfort in that lifestyle(comfort in discomfort... this is tricky, but possible)

- Depending on your personality, begin "biting your tongue" when normally you wouldn't, OR say what you want, when you want to. (the trick here is catching yourself and utilizing the situation and performing the exercise)

- Read a book or watch a documentary about something you don't agree with, or aren't interested in.(you may learn something, change your perspective, open your mind to multiple concepts co-existing)

This is only a short list of exercises that have been considered. You may have noticed that they may seem silly or ridiculous but the underlying theme is to force yourself to act/behave on/in situations and circumstances that you normally wouldn't. If you pursue this challenge, the possibility of mind expansion, you'll find is almost limitless, never stop questioning..... always ask WHY?
WHY be afraid? The truth is, at the end of the day, most fears when confronted will not result in death(for many the ultimate fear) and truth be told shouldn't be recognized as fear. COMBAT CONTROL! is the elimination of fear, because fear leads to control.
There are many ways to COMBAT CONTROL! how do you?
